April 20th, famously recognized as 420, is a day cherished by aficionados of a certain type of nuggets. However in 2024, the air was filled with an aroma of a more tantalizing, and unmistakable scent of KFC’s Saucy Nuggets.
This marked the launch of the KFC Nugget Dispensary, a pop-up experience designed to be enjoyed by both cannabis and non-cannabis consumers alike. Created in collaboration with m ss ng p eces, the event aimed to provide a memorable twist on 4/20 promotions while aligning with KFC's brand values of innovation, fun, and delicious food.
We took over a storefront next to MedMen on Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, CA, a prime spot for boutique dispensaries. The pop-up was designed to resemble a classic LA dispensary, complete with puffer pods for guests to sniff the herbs and spices, full glass display cabinets breaking down flavor profiles, and bold bespoke artwork all while guests sampled KFC’s limited edition nugget flavors.
The event drew over 1,000 attendees who consumed 15,000 Nuggets in a single day. With over 1 billion earned impressions, 36 media placements, 120+ social mentions, and numerous influencer posts, the impact of this Nugget dispensary reached far beyond its walls.
